There are only two places where this fabulous, but rarely grown grape excels. Luckily, the Willamette Valley is one and the other is Alsace. The grape clusters were pressed off “whole cluster” in a single press load. The juice was 100% barrel fermented to dryness in French oak barrels, 20% of which were brand new. We ferment the juice in French white oak barrels for a sweet creaminess. The wine conditioned in the barrels sur lie with weekly battonage until it completed malolactic fermentation and was blended.
The 2016 Pinot Blanc has aromas of vanilla, citrus fruit, cantaloupe and white peach. The flavors of mixed citrus fruit and honey blend well with a creamy mouthfeel and sweet light oak tannin finish.
